Heye SmartLink
The logging and evaluation of data is becoming more and more important for manufacturers. This was the motivation for Heye to develop the Heye SmartLink, which works as a data gateway and enables the rapid and secure transfer of data from the equipment.
Thanks to Heye SmartLink, the user can save the data from the equipment in the local network and use this data for evaluation within the user's system.
Function
- Encapsulation of the networks: Heye – Customer
- Receiving the process data from the connected equipment
- Processing of the process data into a uniform data format (JSON)
- Providing the processed data to the customer via interfaces (data export)
Data Export
NB: data exports vary depending on the equipment
- Operating data
- Event parameters
- Line configuration
- Job change
- Section status
- Mould temperatures (from Heye Thermal Image Sensor)
- Process air pressure (from Heye Compressed Air Control)
- Counter, reject counter (from Heye Hot End Rejector)
- Reject reasons (from Heye Process Control)
- Plunger positions (from Heye Process Control)
- Press duration (from Heye Process Control)
- Forming pressure (from Heye Press Duration Control)
- Gob measurements (from Heye GobMaster)
- Area-of-interest parameters
Advantages
- Simple integration into the customer's equipment infrastructure
- Only one dedicated LAN Ethernet Port required for connection to the plant infrastructure
- Data remains in the customer's local network
- JSON data exchange format
- Communication via MQTT-Broker
- Publish/Subscribe architecture for minimised data traffic at a high update rate

FAQs Heye SmartLink
What is the Heye SmartLink?
The Heye SmartLink is a pure software product. The software runs as a background service on the SmartLink server (PC) and is line-specific. The software features a browser-based graphical user interface for status monitoring. The Heye SmartLink provides the customer with a unified data interface to access the process data of the connected Heye equipment.
How does data processing work in the Heye SmartLink?
The Heye SmartLink receives process data from connected equipment, converts it into a standardised data format (JSON), and provides the processed data to the customer via interfaces.
How is the Heye SmartLink integrated into the plant infrastructure?
SmartLink enables simple integration into the customer’s plant infrastructure. Only one dedicated LAN Ethernet port is required for connection. The data remains within the customer’s local network.
How does communication work and which data format is used?
Data exchange is based on the JSON format. Communication takes place via an MQTT broker and follows a Publish/Subscribe architecture.
What are the advantages of the Heye SmartLink?
- Easy and fast integration into your existing plant and IT infrastructure
- Minimal installation effort (only one LAN connection required)
- Full data sovereignty, as all data remains within your local network
- Standardised and structured process data (JSON) for seamless use in your IT, MES, or analytics systems
- Efficient communication via MQTT broker using a Publish/Subscribe architecture for minimised data traffic at high update rates
