GobMaster

The Heye GobMaster is a camera-based system which allows glassmakers to monitor and optimise gob parameters in blow:blow production. Two cameras, positioned beneath the shears, generate 3D gob images that enable precise calculation of gob weight and geometry. The system continuously monitors gob shape in real-time, detecting malfunctions or deviations and initiating corrective actions. These include rejection of faulty articles or automatic adjustments by stepper motors in the feeder. The Heye GobMaster can operate alongside Heye Process Control or as a standalone unit, providing flexibility and efficiency in glass manufacturing processes.

Temperature Image Sensor TIS

The Temperature Imaging Sensor (TIS) is a measuring system designed to monitor temperatures on the blank side to prevent bottle defects and improve process stability. By capturing IR-images within a section cycle on the parison and mould parts (blank mould, plunger, and neck ring), the TIS ensures precise temperature control. The optional closed loop feature enhances production efficiency by adjusting the timing of cooling cycles based on real-time temperature sensor data, leading to optimised manufacturing processes. When integrated with the Heye BlankSideRobot, the TIS synchronises with the robot’s lubrication cycles for optimal performance.

SmartLink

The Heye SmartLink serves as a data gateway for manufacturers, facilitating fast and secure transfer of equipment data for logging and evaluation purposes. Users can save equipment data in the local network and use it for analysis within their system. The SmartLink offers valuable insights into the production process with such key data exports as:

• status information from the IS-machine
• counter data from current production at the hot end
• plunger pressure status from Heye Press Duration Control
• plunger positions from Heye Process Control

With features like JSON data exchange format, communication via MQTT-Broker and Publish/Subscribe architecture, the Heye SmartLink provides a simple and reliable solution for optimising data management in glass manufacturing operations.

Major Improvements

Heye provides a new kind of infeed screws, manufactured using state-of-the-art 3D printing. This makes them up to 50% lighter without compromising durability or the stable container infeed for which Heye machinery is famous.

Thanks to this improvement, Heye reduces raw material consumption and contributes to the environmental goals of all glassmakers.

We have launched a software update to version 6475 for the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of our SmartLine 2, which provides improved usability and functional improvements for WMS, Ranger 2, dimension and ovality (DOM) and contact diameter and ovality (OD).

Here are a few of the usability enhancements:

• For some actions that require a name to be entered, the keyboard opens automatically
• The setting of parameters for three special (external) measuring modules has been integrated in the article basic settings 
• The maintenance functions now allow data to be imported from a created backup

We have developed an improved valve flap for the bottom plate mechanism (Vertical Air Stream). This further improves functionality and durability.

Major Improvements

The new valve flap seals the cooling airflow more precisely. The drive of the new flap has been completely redesigned. Instead of a rotary piston cylinder, that is complex to manufacture and difficult to seal, the new design has a linear cylinder with a rack-and-pinion drive and incorporates an end position damper.

The precisely fabricated linear cylinder and the accurate sealing ensure improved and uniform movement of the valve flap. Sealing with a linear cylinder is simpler than with a rotary cylinder, which also affects the lifespan of the sealing elements. The new design lasts longer and is easier to maintain. The upgraded version is fully interchangeable with the previous version, ensuring seamless integration for existing systems.
